SHYHEIM
(Greatest Story Never Told)
|
|
The
first of the extended Wu-Tang
fam to come out on any level,
let alone release an entire
album, Shyheim has been coming
up with the Wu ever since his
'94 debut A/K/A The Rugged Child.
At that time Shyheim was half
the age of most of the Clan
members, but he was giving viewpoints
just as real as the Clan, proving
he can hang with the rest of
the MCs out there.
Another album release in '96,
The Lost Generation, featured
members of G.P. Wu and Brooklyn
Zoo, kind of assigning Shyheim
as the forerunner of the onslaught
the Wu is presently unleashing
on the music industry. A new
album is rumored to be in the
works for sometime in 1998,
further telling the tales of
this young yet lyrically sharp
verbal veteran. |

in many ways the prototype. |

CORMEGA (Special Edition)
|
|
Cormega
first burst into national consciousness
in 1996 when he was featured
on "Affirmative Action"
from Nas' sophomore album, It
Was Written. He joined the all-star
supergroup, The Firm - originally
Nas, Foxy Brown, and Cormega
(later replaced by Nature).
The alliance with The Firm was
short-lived, but Cormega's lyrical
prowess and street credibility
landed him a contract with Violator/Def
Jam.
He recorded a critically
acclaimed album called The Testament,
which although never commercially
released was praised by industry
insiders. Source Magazine selected
four tracks for its coveted
Fat Tape Section while Vibe
Magazine and Ego Trip's Book
Of List named The Testament
one of the best unreleased album
in hip-hop history. Bootleggers,
fans, and industry insiders
went into overdrive everyone
claiming to have The Testament,
but Cormega kept the full album
under wraps. |
